Ghanaian singing star, Gregory Bortey Newman popularly known as King Promise, has revealed that he is partly Nigerian.

In an interview with CoolFM’s Taymi B, the afro-fusion singer revealed that Nigerian DNA runs in his blood, stating that his grandmother was married to a Nigerian and that he had even spent a year in Nigeria when he was younger. He went on to reveal that the COVID-19 lockdown was a very productive time for him as he was able to record a lot of songs, including his latest single, Slow Down.

Slow Down’, a single from his upcoming project, has been making waves and topping the charts since it dropped. The song is a melodic and soul-stirring track produced by Ghana’s Killbeatz and Nigeria’s Nonso Amada.

King Promise, who recently signed with 5K Records in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment, stated that his album, slated to drop later in the year, will feature his buddy, Mr. Eazi, and a couple of Nigerians.
