Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti the youngest son of the famous Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti while performing with his father’s former band Egypt 80 at the New Afrika Shrine today emphasizes that his Father ‘Fela‘ has 51 albums to his name, a record which no other Nigerian/African artist has or would match and other local and international awards he has in record and how his political activism cannot be matched.
After his beautiful performance with Nigerian rapper Vector, Seun goes on to disclaim rumors being peddled on social media of his dislike for Burnaboy & Wizkid that there is nothing of such, stating what he dislikes is the late Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti being compared to any rising Nigerian artist listing records the late has set in the past with his music and his pan activism; and of the ones who only steal from the craft of the Abami Eda and are never there to defend the name ‘Fela‘ during the comparisons or any abuses coming from the political elite or the one who weren’t a fan while he was alive.
