The Soul Train Music Awards is an annual music awards show which previously aired in national broadcast syndication, and honors the best in African-American culture music and entertainment.
Nominees for the 2021 Soul Train Awards have been unveiled with H.E.R as lead nominee for 8 awards, Jazmine Sullivan and Chris Brown follow with six nominations each; Wizkid and Tems are next in line with five nominees each. H.E.R., Sullivan and Wizkid are each nominated for three marquee awards – song, album and video of the year. Wizkid’s Made in Lagos album becomes the first African album to be nominated for Soul Train awards. Wizkid and Tems’s hit song “Essence” is nominated for Song of the Year, Video of the Year and Best Collaboration . The 2021 Soul Train awards will take place on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 8 PM ET with returning hosts Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold at New York’s Apollo Theater and will honor the 50th anniversary of the debut of “Soul Train.
