Shaboozey and Myles Smith Drop ‘Blink Twice’: A Transatlantic Anthem of Fleeting Time

The collaboration we didn’t know we needed has arrived, and it’s a poignant beauty. Genre-bending sensation Shaboozey and BRITs Rising Star winner Myles Smith have teamed up for their new single, ‘Blink Twice’, released on Friday, April 11th, 2025.

This transatlantic pairing delivers a folksy, introspective track that urges listeners to seize the moment before it slips away.
Shaboozey, known for his unique fusion of country, hip-hop, and rock, joins forces with the British singer-songwriter Myles Smith, celebrated for his raw vocals and heartfelt lyrics. ‘Blink Twice’ seamlessly blends their distinct styles, built upon a foundation of twangy, finger-picked guitars, driving drums, and organic stomps and claps.

The lyrics, penned with a shared sense of urgency, explore themes of time, love, and the importance of living fully. The chorus, sung in harmony by both artists, encapsulates the song’s central message: “Oh me, oh my, would you look in my eyes/ We’ll laugh or cry just to feel alive/ Oh-woah-woah, no time for living a lie/ Oh-woah-woah, time flies, so don’t blink twice.”

Their voices intertwine beautifully, carrying the weight of the message with sincerity and a touch of vulnerability.
Shaboozey himself expressed his excitement for the track on Instagram, stating, “This is one of the best songs I’ve ever made.” This collaboration marks a significant moment for both artists. For Shaboozey, it’s a taste of what’s to come on the deluxe edition of his 2024 album, ‘Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going (Complete Edition)’, set to release on April 25th and featuring six new songs, including another collaboration with Jelly Roll titled ‘Amen’. For Myles Smith, it follows his successful 2024 EP, ‘A Minute’, and his recent win at the BRIT Awards.
Adding another layer to the release, a pensive and emotionally resonant music video accompanied the single. This visual component further enhances the song’s themes of fleeting time and cherishing genuine connection.

The live debut of ‘Blink Twice’ occurred just days before its official release, during Myles Smith’s show in Los Angeles on April 7th, where Shaboozey joined him on stage. This electrifying performance only amplified the anticipation for the studio version.
‘Blink Twice’ offers a refreshing sound that bridges the gap between country and folk-pop, showcasing the artistic growth and versatility of both Shaboozey and Myles Smith. It’s a song that encourages reflection and reminds us to appreciate the present moment. With both artists also slated to perform at Glastonbury Festival later this year, a potential live duet on the iconic stage is now a highly anticipated prospect.
