Wizkid Makes History as First African Artist to Hit 20 Billion Global Streams

Grammy-winning Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has shattered yet another record, becoming the first African artist to amass over 20 billion audio-on-demand streams worldwide. The milestone was officially verified by ChartMasters, a leading music data authority. 

The record accounts for Wizkid’s entire discography, including his smash-hit collaborations. His most-streamed track remains *One Dance*, his 2016 global hit with Drake and British singer Kyla, which has racked up over 3.6 billion Spotify streams alone. The song also holds a Guinness World Record as the first to reach one billion streams on the platform. 

This achievement further solidifies Wizkid’s dominance in the global music scene. Last year, he became the first African artist to receive the prestigious Brit Billion Award for surpassing one billion streams in the UK. 

With over 65 million units sold worldwide, Wizkid stands as the best-selling Afrobeats artist of all time and continues to break barriers as one of Africa’s most influential musical exports.
