Fresh off the massive success of his sophomore album Iron Boy, Ghanaian powerhouse Black Sherif has officially released his first single of 2026: “PopStar.”
Produced by long-time collaborator Joker Nharnah, “PopStar” strips back the aggressive drill energy of Sherif’s earlier hits like “Kwaku The Traveller.” In its place is a more melodic, self-assured flow that leans into his “Iron Boy” era—a blend of highlife, hip-hop, and emotive storytelling.
The track, which dropped on March 27, 2026, via RBA and Empire, marks a significant sonic pivot for the artist often called “Blacko.” It’s a reflective, mid-tempo anthem that explores the duality of fame—the glitter of the spotlight versus the weight of the journey that led there.
