In the thick of the transfer brouhaha involving Victor Osimhen, Correire dello Sport has reported that Premier League club Liverpool also made a late attempt to sign the striker.
However, the Italian newspaper did not give more information of this late interest.
Corriere dello Sport also credited Napoli sports director Giovanni Manna for designing the formula that got Turkish giants to sign Osimhen on loan after proposed transfers to PSG, Chelsea and Saudi Arabian club fell through.
The loan transfer pushes the burden of paying Osimhen’s enormous salary on Galatasaray.
Another report said part of that savings will now finance the renewal of the contract of star forward Khvicha Kvartskhelia.
