Ten years after clocking in as a 15-year-old factory attendant in Ibadan, FOLA posted the old staff card and a quiet admission: music was the instrument God used to rewrite the story.
The timing is deliberate. With his new single “attention!” now out, the post lands as more than nostalgia. It is a full-circle marker, the same artist who once held a laminated identity card as “Factory Worker” is now releasing music that commands the very thing the title names.
The reflection does not romanticise the past. It simply places the new work in context. What began on a factory floor has become a body of music that has already carried him from local shifts to national streams. “attention!” arrives as both product and proof of that shift.
In a single post, FOLA connected the boy on the card to the artist releasing today. The distance between the two is the real story.
