The Recording Academy has announced five new Grammy categories for the 69th Annual Grammy Awards, set for February 7, 2027. The additions aim to better reflect the evolving global music landscape.
The New Categories Are:
- Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance — Honors recordings in a traditional pop style that don’t fit contemporary pop categories.
- Best Latin Song — A dedicated award recognizing excellence in Latin songwriting.
- Best Asian Pop Music Performance — The first category of its kind, celebrating artistic excellence in Asian pop (including K-pop, J-pop, and C-pop) with meaningful use of one or more Asian languages.
- Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance — Recognizes outstanding R&B performances by duos, groups, or collaborators.
- Best Traditional Folk Album — Honors excellence in traditional folk album recordings.
These changes were ratified following member proposals and reflect the industry’s growing diversity and international reach. The full list of 2027 Grammy categories and eligibility details are available on Grammy Official Website.
