Somebody tell the rest of the industry to catch up, because Asake has practically colonized Spotify Nigeria’s 2026 charts. Out of the top 10 most-streamed songs this year, seven carry his name. Jogodo, Gratitude, Worship, Turbulence, Forgiveness, Alaye, MCBH, and Chanel. That’s not a good run, that’s a monopoly.
Leading the pack is Jogodo, his collaboration with Wizkid, which has racked up an eye-watering 72.4 million streams, the biggest Nigerian song of the year, no contest.
And speaking of Wizkid, his fingerprints are all over Asake’s biggest wins. Between Jogodo, Turbulence, and Alaye, Wizkid’s smooth, melodic delivery keeps meeting Asake’s gritty street energy in the middle, and the chemistry just works. It’s less “featured artist” and more “perfect foil.”
Outside the Asake-Wizkid axis, Kidd Carder & Mavo’s “Big Bum Bum” and Bnxn & Sarz’s “Back Outside” are holding their own, but let’s be honest 2026 has one undisputed king, and his name is Asake.
